20 February. Thinking about looking for outdoor industry work?

Coming up – an opportunity to get involved with climbing and to find out about MOUNTAIN TRAINING.

Mountain Training is the awarding body for skills courses and qualifications in walking, climbing and mountaineering in the UK. The nationally recognised courses train and assess people to look after other people participating in these activities, whether that’s leading a walk in the mountains, coaching in a climbing wall or teaching multi-pitch rock climbing.

On Monday 20th February staff from Mountain Training will be available at Beacon from 7.00pm – 9.00pm during our Rock Chicks social climbing session to talk about skills training, awards and where the organisation can fit into your career/lifestyle map. They will be answering questions, finding out what people want and need, and offering help on using the Mountain Training candidate management system and online digital logbook.

Rock Chicks meets every Monday evening at Beacon Climbing Centre and is for women who want to start climbing or improve their climbing. The sessions are organised and run by Beacon instructor Clare Mayfield and are a great way to meet up with other climbers and form a group of regular climbing friends.

Although Rock Chicks is specifically aimed at women, the Mountain Training event is open to anyone.
