13 December. Students vs The World (e.g. the rest of us).

Since students were first invented over 3000 years ago*, there has been one question on everyone’s lips ‘Who would win in a Beacon bouldering competition…?’ Well, wonder no more… The day has come to settle the debate once and for all.

On Wednesday 13th December come and battle it out against the BUMs (Bangor University Mountaineering Society) in a fun, fundraising competition. Every ascent gains a point for your team (students vs non-students) and the team with the most points wins. Simple.

The problems will be set by the usual motley crew of in-house setters, plus the legendary Emma Twyford and reigning British Champion Kieran Forrest, so you can expect some world-cup style, super funky problems. And if that wasn’t enough… we’ve just taken delivery of 300 whooping, great jugs specifically dedicated to the bouldering wall, so expect loads of problems right from the Font 3s. There will be plenty to go at for everyone.
