U18 and want to climb with a load of other psyched young climbers? The 2018 BMC Youth Climbing Series is starting soon and will give you the opportunity to do just that!
The Series is a fun climbing competition for young people and is extremely popular with hundreds of young climbers taking part nationwide.
The competition is open to all young people so whether you’re new to climbing, or already have some experience, this could be just the competition for you.
There are three regional rounds in seven BMC areas followed by a Grand Final when the top 3 in each category from each BMC area, and from Scotland and Ireland take part. Each round starts at 0930 with registration and climbing starts at around 1000, with each round normally concluding by approx. 1600 – this is totally dependent on the number of entrants in each round and the size of the venue.
Each round comprises 3 routes and 3 boulder problems for each age category. In age categories A, B and C routes are led. In age categories D and E they are top-roped.
There are five categories, with separate girls and boys competitions, that follow the IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) system based on year of birth. The categories are called Youth A, B, C, D and E and for 2018 these are…

Online entry is mandatory and the deadline for entries is the Sunday before each round. Please note that entries submitted after that, and entries on the day, will not be accepted.
