Moving onto the sharp end of the rope can be an intimidating step so why not make the progression much easier with our two day Lead Climbing Course - it is packed with skills and top tips to help you towards independence and is the perfect course if you aspire to become a confident outdoor lead climber.

 

To get the most out of Real Rock Lead Climbing Course, you will need to be a relatively competent climber, with experience of seconding outdoor climbs. The course programme is flexible and your instructor will be careful to choose venues that suit your ability and aspirations to help you get the most out of the course.

 

Conveniently located in North Wales, Beacon Climbing Centre has some of the best outdoor climbing in the UK on its doorstep - what better place to progress your climbing development! The course programme is flexible and the instructors will choose venues each day to suit the weather conditions - it is rare that the weather will prevent climbing all together, but part of the course may be based inside at Beacon Climbing Centre.

During the 2 day Real Rock Lead Climbing Course, we would hope to cover...

 

  • Placing and removing gear,
  • The leader's rack,
  • Belays and managing stances,
  • Lead belaying,
  • Route choice and route-finding skills,
  • Managing stress,
  • Problem avoidance,
  • Descent skills.

The Real Rock Lead Climbing Course runs over 2 consecutive days from 9:30am - 5:00pm including a lunch break.

 

 

Price

 

£200 per person

Based on a group of 2-4 people (minimum group size 2).
