Instructor Courses

 

Beacon Climbing Centre runs Climbing Wall Award (CWA), Climbig Wall Leading Award (CWLA), Single Pitch Award (SPA) and Site-Specific training and assessment. The CWA, CWLA and SPA are National Governing Body (NGB) award courses suitable for anyone wanting to supervise or instruct groups in indoor or outdoor climbing.

 

Over the winter months Beacon also run a series of professional development workshops, aimed at local instructors and volunteers.

Coaching Workshops
Hosted at Beacon, these courses offer a valuable insight into developing the abilities of climbers of all ages.
Climbing Wall Award (CWA)
The CWA is specifically designed for supervisors responsible for groups at indoor and outdoor climbing walls.
Climbing Wall Leading Award
The Nationally recognised award for adults wanting to teach and supervise lead climbing on indoor walls.
Single Pitch Award (SPA)
The Nationally recognised award for adults wanting to supervise others on single pitch crags and climbing walls.
Instructor Training Workshops
A series of winter workshops, aimed at local instructors & volunteers, covering a wide range of climbing topics.
Site-Specific Training
Basic training to allow supervision of groups climbing, bouldering and traversing at a specific climbing wall.
