Outdoor Course Info
The Beacon has a long record of top quality instruction and an excellent safety record.
Our outdoor climbing days take advantage of the wealth of fantastic cliffs that make North Wales arguably the best climbing area in the UK and one of the best in the World. Please read through the following information which will help you get the most out from your course.
Meeting Up
Groups normally meet at the Beacon Climbing Centre before the session to sort out equipment and to discuss venues. It is important at this stage that you discuss any specific requirements with your instructor to ensure that you get the most from your session. It is also essential that you inform your instructor of any medical conditions that might affect you.
You then make your way, in your own transport to the venue. For half day sessions we try to keep the venues within a 10 -15 minute drive of Beacon Climbing Centre but in the case of full day sessions it will sometimes be possible to venture further afield.

Groups with Under 18s
If your group includes Under 18s it is essential that they are either accompanied by their parent or legal guardian or that the session is taking place with the full knowledge and consent of the parent or legal guardian. In the case of school groups, we would ask the organisers to have available the written consent and details of the parent / guardian of each participant.
What if it rains?
It is very rare not to be able to run sessions outside, but if the weather does deteriorate it is always possible to adjourn to the indoor walls of at the Beacon Climbing Centre to finish your session.
What next?
All of our instructors are experienced climbers and will be able to offer you advice and information if you want to do more climbing. Beacon Climbing Centre runs a full range of indoor and outdoor climbing courses and your instructor will be able to recommend a course to suit you. Alternatively you can contact the centre.
If you have any feedback about your session please speak to your instructor or contact Steve or Gill back at the Beacon.
