Beacon Climbing

Crazy Climb

Indoor Climbing with a difference, CrazyClimb by Beacon Climbing Walls is a new exciting activity, proven to be a hit with both adults and children!

Offering imaginative, weird, and completely wacky vertical climbing challenges within a visually stunning and colourful structure, CrazyClimb can be installed as an exciting alternative to a traditional indoor climbing wall or as an innovative way of creating additional revenue generation for an existing climbing wall facility.

Constructed as a bespoke modular system, Crazy Climb can be tailored to fit any size of building or facility and is equally viable outside the realms of traditional climbing wall installations - within shopping malls or activity centres for example.

Unlike traditional indoor climbing facilities which require dedicated training for the individual, CrazyClimb can be enjoyed without any previous experience and without any specialist training. Fully automated autobelay systems remove the need for complicated ropework, gently lowering the climber to the ground from any point on the climb and ensuring that simply anyone can have a go and enjoy the challenge of attempting a CrazyClimb.

CrazyClimb was officially launched by Beacon Climbing Walls at The London Outdoor Show in January 2012.

Over the past 10 years many thousands of people have had their first taste of climbing at The Outdoors Show and this year proved no exception. The 2012 Outdoors Show was the first to feature a dedicated 'Climbing Village', and offered a plethora of climbing related activities including CrazyClimb, Ice Climbing and Coaching Masterclasses by DMM, NICAS sessions on a mobile climbing wall and technical advice and lectures throughout the duration of the show.

With no prerequisite for any previous climbing experience and simple fully automated belay systems, CrazyClimb provided an exhilarating and incredibly popular activity for both adults and children, with hundreds of people of all ages attempting to conquer the different CrazyClimb challenges each day. By the end of the show over 2500 people had participated in a climbing activity within The Climbing Village and over 1500 people had attempted a CrazyClimb challenge!

Crazy Climb comprises of a number of seriously silly elements with 11 different options currently available to pick and choose from. More elements will be available in the future as our development team continue to conjure up additional crazy challenges! Crazy Climb elements currently available include...

3-dimensional fun suitable for everyone, even the youngest children - it doesn't get any dafter than this.

Gently overhanging and using the same official speed climbing holds as are used in international speed climbing competitions - a large digital timer will record your results for all to see.

Climbing should always be sociable, and on our double sided see-through wall you can not only climb an identical route to your friend, you can keep an eye on them every step of the way, and maybe pull a few faces as well.

Shin up the drain pipe and light up the window to find out what's hidden within.

Imagine climbing a wall made up of rotating steering wheels? It could be a climber's worse nightmare! Keeping your nerve and concentration will maybe stop you getting into a bit of a spin.

Giant bulbous purple blobs will keep you on your toes (and elbows) and have you longing for holds you can actually wrap your fingers around. A bit of a wonderland experience.

Mirrored climbing holds either side of a prow give climbs of perfect symmetry - use the orange holds for starters, or for more of a challenge, test yourself on the greens

Grunting up chimneys can be an inelegant affair at the best of times - unfortunately for you this one has a mirror in the back so..... bad luck, you get to see yourself climbing it!

A cheeky climb tackling the actual Crazy Climb logo itself at a slightly more leisurely angle.

Small zig zag edges should give you just enough grip to overcome the bulges of the zig zags. Try to keep cool!

A climb with no holds? Instead you get 2 plastic pegs to insert into small holes in the surface of the wall..... there you go, you've got a hold wherever you want one.
