Beacon Climbing for Schools and Groups
Beacon Climbing Centre offers a unique experience for schools and groups, providing fun physical activity in an engaging environment.
Suitable for all age groups and all abilities, climbing provides a positive physical and mental workout and is a great activity for developing team and communication skills. Climbing is also an ideal activity to participate in when working towards Healthy Schools, as an enrichment activity or as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
One off or once a week
At Beacon Climbing Centre, we offer one off taster sessions to anyone over the age of 4, or if you would like to bring your group regularly (as part of a BTEC or A-level course for example) we can help develop your group's climbing skills and abilities through NICAS, the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme.
NICAS advances the participant (aged 7 - adult) from complete novice through to experienced climber, with the development of climbing skills and techniques.
Prices
The price of a School or Group Session includes entry to the wall and all instruction and equipment required. Just turn up wearing comfortable clothing.
If you are bringing a group to Beacon Climbing Centre and are providing your own instruction, please see prices for 'group under instruction' below and ensure that instructors are appropriately qualified and insured.
An ideal length of time for a group session is 1.5 hours, however, should you wish to come for longer please contact us for further pricing information.

For your group's safety and in conjunction with national guidelines, Beacon Climbing Centre instructs groups at a maximum ratio of 1:8.

We are happy for you to provide your own instruction for your group provided that all instructors are appropriately qualified and insured.

Opening hours
Beacon Climbing Centre is open 7 days a week, throughout the year and we are happy to open for schools and groups from 10:00am onwards.
Safety
At Beacon Climbing Centre, safety is our priority and we are committed to providing safe facilities, equipment and instruction. All our instructors are fully qualified in accordance with national guidelines, and hold relevant first aid qualifications.
Other useful information
The climbing centre has a cafe on site which your group may use to purchase drinks and snacks. For an additional cost, we can organise and provide catering for your whole group.
Changing areas, toilets and pigeon holes for equipment storage are available for all Beacon users.
