Beacon Climbing Walls are now suppliers of Trublue auto belay systems - the next generation of indoor and outdoor climbing wall auto belays.
An auto belay system is a superb addition to any climbing facility, comprising of an automatic belay device that eliminates the need for a human belayer by taking up the slack as a climber ascends and controlling the descent when the climber reaches the top or in the event of a fall. Designed specifically for the climbing industry, the Trublue unit uses technology superior to other auto belay systems.

CrazyClimb webpage now launched complete with slideshow...
Detailed information and a comprehensive slideshow detailing our recent CrazyClimb installation at the 2012 London Outdoor Show have now been added to our website here.
Featuring a full complement of 11 CrazyClimb elements, the 8m tall CrazyClimb structure installed within the ExCeL exhibition centre for the duration of the 4 day show provided an exciting and colourful attraction, drawing attention from thousands of show attendees.
CrazyClimb provided an exhilarating and incredibly popular activity for both adults and children, with hundreds of people of all ages attempting to conquer the different CrazyClimb challenges each day. By the end of the show over 1500 people had attempted a CrazyClimb challenge!

Offering fun, weird, and completely wacky vertical climbing challenges, Crazy Climb is the latest indoor climbing activity from Beacon Climbing Walls. Don't get scared, get crazy! Our wacky climbing challenges include shinning up a drainpipe on the side of our Crazy House, climbing aliens by grabbing their nostrils and making faces at your friends through the see-through climbing wall!
You don't need any previous climbing experience so anyone can have a go at the hilarious crazy climb challenges! Each challenge uses a fully automated belay system which gently lowers the climber to the ground from any point on the climb. Come and have a go!

Climbing Walls in association with the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme
For many, the climbing wall is their first introduction to the absorbing world of climbing. The National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme provides the structure and motivation for new climbers to develop their skills in order to help them get the most out of their climbing as well as having their achievements recognised.
You will be able to pre book a session with our NICAS instructors to come away from the show with the first part of your qualification.

DMM's Ice Climbing wall is always an extremely popular feature of The Outdoors Show. The Ice wall will be returning in 2012 offering you a chance to conquer the basic techniques needed in this high adrenaline sport.
Climbing Masterclasses brought to you by DMM
You don't have to be a world class athlete to benefit from expert tuition. Anyone can improve their training, technique and performance with a little help. Performance masterclasses are bookable with DMM sponsored athletes Libby Peter and Lucy Creamer via the DMM website.

Grab a pint, coffee or a slice of cake while listening to speakers including leaders from the AMI (Association of Mountaineering Instructors) and other climbing organisations.

Construction now completed at The Cragg in Suffolk...
Beacon Climbing Walls have just finished construction of a large new section of roped climbing walls at The Cragg, Stowmarket in Suffolk.
This new development replaces some of the older Cragg climbing walls, as well as adding new walls to give 270sqm of climbing and an impressive 27 extra rope lines. The new climbing walls will provide a great variety of angles and styles including an abseil platform, crack feature and a dyno wall.

The adjacent Beacon bouldering wall (originally constructed in 2009) has also had a face lift with a fresh paint job and a smart carpet top for the matting.

The bouldering room is located within a disused squash court and provides a surprising amount of space!
Latest developments now completed at Climb Rochdale...
The Beacon Climbing Walls building team have been busy and after a month of very hard work, the new Climb Rochale bouldering area officially opened on Thursday May 5th.
The new 155m2 ground floor bouldering area includes loads of problems for all abilities with an interesting variety of angles and plenty of 3 dimensional climbing including an overhanging arch.
In addition to the new bouldering, Climb Rochdale now has a new cafe, and the ground floor internal layout has been completely reconfigured for increased convenience, with the climbing centre entrance now located in the car park.
