Beacon courses are non-residential but the following list of recommendations
should help you find something suitable, whether you are looking
for a campsite, bunkhouse or a B&B.
Bryn Gloch Camp Site
A large and well-equipped campsite located in Betws Garmon approx
3 miles from the Beacon. Voted ‘AA best camp site in Wales
2005’, and with a luxury toilet and shower block this would
make an ideal family base. Prices for camping start at £13/night
and they also have static caravans and bunkhouse-style accommodation.

Chamois Mountaineering Club Hut
Bunkhouse style accommodation very conveniently located just 100m
from the Beacon. There are 46 beds available and the cost is £6/pp/night
or you can book sole use for £200 per night mid-week and £240
weekends.

Dol Peris
Hotel accommodation in Llanberis located approx 4.5 miles from the
Beacon. Run by ex-Beacon instructor Simon Wilson and his partner
Sue, who offer en-suite rooms with TV and coffee making facilities
as well as a drying room, all for a very reasonable price of £20-28
for a single and £40-56 for a double/twin.

Gallt y Glyn
Bed & Breakfast and bunkhouse style accommodation located just
outside Llanberis, approx 4 miles from The Beacon. They offer bunkhouse
beds from £7.50/pp/night and comfortable double/twin rooms
from £45. Rooms are en-suite, have TV and coffee-making facilities,
and there are also drying room facilities, bicycle lock-up and off
road parking. This place is legendary for its Wednesday pizza evenings,
and is well worth a visit even if you are not staying there.
Pentre Bach
A small campsite and alpine style bunk house situated between Waunfawr
and Betws Garmon approx 3 miles from the Beacon. Camping costs £4/night
and the bunkhouse, which sleeps up to 16 costs £8/night. Pentre
Bach is run by Gordon Neil, a freelance instructor at the Beacon.
You are sure to get a warm welcome as well as plenty of advice about
local activities.
Silver Birches Campsite
This small, peaceful site has wonderful views of the mountains and
woodland.It is within the Snowdonia National Park, about 4 miles
from Beacon Climbing Centre and just 1½ miles from the Snowdon
Ranger path. This makes it an ideal base for walkers and climbers.
It has hot showers at no extra charge - just what is needed after
a long walk.If you are looking for a relaxing holiday spend some
time at the lovely beaches around here.

Pete’s Eats
Pete’s Eats is well known amongst climbers and is arguably
the most highly regarded climbers café in the World!
In the past few years they have started doing very comfortable
bunkhouse style accommodation. Pete’s is located approx
4.5 miles from the Beacon.
Nantmor Mountain Centre
A centre providing excellent facilities for groups in an outstanding location near Nantgwynant, a 30 minute drive from the Beacon. On the banks of a tumbling mountain stream at the foot of Cnicht, ideally situated as a base for a variety of activities including Hillwalking, Climbing and Expedition work. Sleeps 22, £6.25 a night, self-catering and completely independent. Our members include Schools, Colleges, Scouts and Rambler's groups and we welcome interest from new users of this most unusual and rare facility.
